Ziyi Liu
Ziyi Liu has been a Ph.D. student in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University since Fall 2021, conducting research under Professor Karthik Ramani's Convergence Design Lab. His research focuses on leveraging Extended Reality (XR) technology to address real-world educational challenges while exploring innovative, frictionless interactions to enhance accessibility and usability. His work emphasizes lowering the barriers to learning and effectively using XR through intuitive design, tangible user interfaces, wearable devices, and multimodal interfaces, enabling seamless integration of XR into diverse user experiences. In parallel, Ziyi explores the implementation of pedagogical agents within XR environments to improve learning outcomes by fostering engagement, contextual understanding, and collaboration. His goal is to create immersive, user-centered solutions that empower individuals to interact naturally with XR systems and establish the connection between the real and the virtual world, advancing both educational and technological frontiers.
